MISS Foundation

The MISS Foundation is an international nonprofit supporting families experiencing the death or impending death of a child through peer support, education, counseling resources, advocacy and other grief programs.

MISS provides free, fully moderated online grief forums, support groups, mentoring, educational resources and additional grief programs. It also operates paid counseling and retreat offerings through other parts of the organization.

The organization primarily supports families affected by the death of a child. Individual support groups or retreats may limit participation by relationship, type of loss, age of the child or time since the death.

The online forums are accessible nationally and internationally. In person support and retreat programs are location dependent.

The online support forums are free. Other MISS programs are not necessarily free. For example, selected Carefarm retreats and counseling based programs charge fees, so visitors should check the exact program before enrolling.

Visit the For the Grieving section and apply for access to the online support forums or review available support groups and other programs. New forum applications are reviewed by human volunteer moderators.

The forum is described as available 24/7. New membership approval typically takes 24 to 78 hours, so the forum should not be treated as immediate crisis intervention.

Online forums offer remote access. Accessibility, language options and accommodations for individual in person groups, counseling programs or retreats vary and should be confirmed directly.

MISS Foundation maintains a broad bereavement support network including moderated forums, support groups, mentoring, educational programs and specialized traumatic grief services. No universal clinical outcome rate is claimed.

The online forums are peer support and are not a substitute for emergency or clinical care. Other MISS programs can be fee based, including retreats and counseling related services. Membership review means the forum is not instant access.
